Jim Convery Discusses Laner Muchin’s Pivot to Remote Work and Benefits of Returning to the Office in ABC7 News Interview
Laner Muchin’s Managing Partner Jim Convery spoke with ABC7 News on the limitations of remote work and looking ahead to a return to the office.
On the anniversary of the official declaration of the COVID-19 pandemic, downtown businesses reflected on how once-bustling office spaces have become ghost towns as nearly all employees have shifted to working from their homes.
"We're at the one-year mark since we've gone to remote working, and it's worked out better than expected," Jim said in light of nearly all of the firm’s 70 employees working outside of the downtown Chicago office.
While the difficult logistical effort to pivot all attorneys and staff to work from their homes has worked well, the inability to foster interpersonal relationships and collaborate in person leaves something to be desired.
“There's nothing like face to face interaction and bouncing ideas off of someone."
