Constitutional Issues that May Arise When Employees Return-To Work from Covid-19 to be Discussed by Tom Bradley of Laner Muchin at 36th Annual Illinois Public Sector Labor Relations Law Conference

12.02.2020

Chicago, IL –The constitutional issues posed when employees return to work from COVID-19 will be the topic of a presentation by attorney Tom Bradley, of Laner Muchin, Ltd., on Friday, December 4, 2020, at the 36th Annual Illinois Public Sector Labor Relations Law Conference, hosted by the Chicago-Kent College of Law.

Among the issues Bradley will be discussing are the constitutional limitations a public employer may face when it compels employees to disclose information, prohibits such disclosure, and/or investigates employee compliance with work rules in the return-to-work scenario.

“The COVID-19 pandemic may seem as though it places us in uncharted legal waters,” Bradley said, “but there are constitutional principles that public employers can rely upon as they welcome employees back into the workspace.”

The Public Sector Labor Law Conference is presented by Chicago-Kent College of Law and its Institute for Law and the Workplace in cooperation with the Illinois Labor Relations Board & the Illinois Educational Labor Relations Board.

“It is always a great privilege to present at the Kent Conference,” Bradley said, “and since the Conference is being presented virtually this year, every public employer should make an effort to view the presentations -- which cover the gamut of workplace issues public employers face.”

Bradley advises public sector employers on labor and employment issues, legislation, the Illinois constitution, the Illinois Public Labor Relations Act, and other state statutes, and represents them in arbitrations, administrative hearings, circuit court litigation, appeals, and other litigation.

Bradley also represents private sector employers in injunction actions and trials in state and federal court.
