On December 31, 2020, President Trump extended previously issued Proclamations 10014 and 10052, which suspended the entry of certain immigrants and nonimmigrants into the U.S., subject to certain exceptions. Citing the COVID-19 pandemic, the December Proclamation states “The effects of COVID-19 on the United States labor market and on the health of American communities is a matter of ongoing national concern, and the considerations present in Proclamations 10014 and 10052 have not been eliminated.” As such, the suspension and limitation of entry of individuals seeking entry into the U.S. pursuant to common employer-sponsored work authorization visas such as H, L and J visas, with certain exemptions, are continued until March 31, 2021.
